Originally published in my newsletter, I took the risky approach of writing each episode as I went along rather than write it all out and then serialize it chapter by chapter as many writers have been doing. The structure of the story lent itself to this method. Lamb is a collection of interwoven stories about the title character and his best friend – a “novel in snapshots” I call it – which includes poetry, short stories, letters, and conversations between the two.
For people who enjoy short stories with recurring characters, this is the queer coming-of-age you’ve been looking for – a Tales of the City for Generation X.
